*Want to know the best way to organize kitchen utensils?
Tackling any home project can feel quite burdensome, especially with all the other elements of life. This particular task is something that’s only in your face bit by bit. It’s easy to overlook because its kind of hidden,
The hidden element can be a good and a bad thing. Good because you don’t always see it, bad because its still there. You know in your head that there is this hidden little mess box lingering; still needing to be dealt with.
It’s often things like this…little menial tasks that make us feel that we’ll never be able to keep up because there’s always something to do.
This post will give you the absolute basics needed to organize kitchen utensils and knock this annoying task off of your list.
Organize Kitchen Utensils
Step 1. Get rid of these 3 spoons! Translation, get rid of the multiples. Why on earth do I have 3 of the same spoon?! And not to mention, I have 2 more variations of this very strainer spoon.
It’s always amusing to me just how easily things can go awry. Like, how do they get that way and why? We all know from the very beginning that we don’t like mess. So why don’t we do the right step initially, to do it right the very first time? Is it laziness? Or maybe you all do it right the first time and it’s just me who kind of drops the ball. What’s also funny is how we’ll just live with the problem because sometimes it’s just easier to avoid it. But how rewarding is it to have everything in order!?? SO REWARDING.
Reality however has my kitchen utensil drawers looking a bit like this:
I simply do not understand why they cant just automatically look like this when I open the drawer:
I mean I get that these utensils are not in a drawer, and they are standing up, and now that I look a little longer they are in fact a bit creepy, kind of giving ‘fork torture device’… but they’re still kinda pretty right?? And isn’t that the goal after-all?? OK, moving on. You know what’s not rewarding?
First let me say, my drawers are huge! And obviously I forgot that little fact when I purchased that tiny looking silver utensil holder some time ago. This drawer is asking for random things to float all around the empty space. Normally I’d be happy to have so much room. It seems however that I am not using it very efficiently.
And take a look at this shuffled up mess:
It’s simply shameful. Clearly I need to organize my kitchen utensils. That leads me to the next step.
Step 2. Get some snazzy drawer dividers. Dividers are the perfect solution to organize kitchen utensils. I purchased two separate sets from Amazon, the Space Aid Bamboo Drawer Dividers and the Utoplike 4 PCS Bamboo Kitchen Drawer Dividers. What you decide on will vary depending on exactly how much stuff you are trying to organize.
Its important that you’re not hasty when you organize kitchen utensils. The last thing that you want is to get hurt by grabbing something sharp. With so many items going every which way, you need to be extra cautious.
I’m pretty satisfied with the after.
